The NTDA was created in January 2007 by dart players in the Collin/Grayson County areas of North Texas. The players involved ranged from experienced league players to novice and youth players, all with a common love for the sport of darts.

On January 11, 2007, players met at Big Tony's Sports Grill in McKinney to elect league officials, agree on match format and other league details and officially launch this new organization with excited spirits - and of course a blind draw for celebration.

From the NTDA rules and regulations; The objective of the NTDA is to foster and promote darts in the North Texas area. The NTDA shall also maintain the objective of fostering new and novice players as they grow and improve in their knowledge of the game and their own respective levels of play as a dart player.

The NTDA would like to express its sincere appreciation to the sponsoring clubs that helped make this league happen, and we look forward to having a growing and successful league for years to come.
